Harry Potter and the Cursed Child parts one and two

Harry potter CursedTitle: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Author: J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany
Series: Harry Potter
Recommended for: 4th grade and up
Pages: 327 pages
Call Number/Link:  TEEN FICTION ROWLING, J.

Synopsis:As an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and a father,Harry Potter struggles with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs while his youngest son, Albus, finds the weight of the family legacy difficult to bear.

This is the 8th book in the series, so I am not going to give to much detail.  After I got use to reading the script (by the way it is a screen play) it flew by.  It is fast pace, as it follows Albus’s first four years of school.  The fourth year is really where the focus is, the other years are lucky if they get a paragraph.  I did enjoy this book, and it was neat to see beloved characters back even if only for a little while.  Also, Albus is the only child that you really get to know, the other two children really take a back seat. I feel those that have loved Harry Potter will enjoy this book.

Tad and Dad

Tad and DadTitle: Tad and Dad
Author: David Ezra Stein
Series: n/a
Recommended for: Ages 2- 6
Pages: 40 pages
Call Number/Link:  E STEIN, D.

Synopsis: Tad the tadpole loves spending every minute with his awesome dad, whether they’re swimming together, catching flies, or sleeping. But now little Tad is getting bigger. He’s growing new limbs and jumping to new heights. His dad is proud, but when Tad’s accomplishments carry over into nighttime—bringing lots of wiggling, croaking, and kicking in his sleep—their lily pad starts feeling mighty crowded! When Tad finally realizes it might be time for a bed of his own, will Dad be ready?

This is a great picture book to read showing a father/ son relationship.  I like that it is a simple text, wonderful pictures and a great read aloud.  I think the children will love it.
