Alex and Conner have had a hard year, since their father has died and now their mom has to work on their birthday. Mom saves the day by having Grandma come and spend the day. Grandma is just what they needed, and she comes bearing all kinds of gifts. One gift is an old story book that their father use to read to them from when they would visit at Grandma’s. Alex makes a wish when she is reading it and it starts to buzz. After a bunch of weird things, Alex and Connor end up in a land of fairy tale characters. They have to find a way home back to their mother. Once they reach the fairy tale world it is one adventure after another.
I found that it moved faster once in the fairy tale world. I love fairy tales so to see what happens to them after their stories is great. Alex and Conner are always in some kind of trouble, that they have to find there way out of. The cool thing is they really work through the trouble on there own. Alex talks a lot about the life lessons that she has learned from the different tales and is a recurring theme.
